West Brom midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu says he wants to leave the club and claims that Arsenal are interested in signing him.

The 26-year-old, who signed for the Baggies in 2009 from Paris Saint-Germain, said that rumoured interest from the North London side is genuine and suggested he could ask for a transfer in January.

“I've had approaches from Arsenal,” Mulumbu is quoted as saying in The Sun.

“I could leave this winter. This is the right time for me to set my sights higher. I'm ready to join a top-four club.”

Mulumbu has become an integral part of the West Brom team - starting every one of club’s 12 games so far this season - and has formed a solid midfield partnership with Claudio Yacob.

Despite this, Congo international launched a scathing attack on his club, highlighting the lack of professionalism in the recent game against Chelsea as a reason for not winning the match, which they drew 2-2.

He added: “We are not professional enough in the way we manage our games – for example our draw at Chelsea. We are not mature enough.”

Mulumbu will miss the clash with Manchester City on Wednesday after picking up a one-game ban for receiving five yellow cards, losing his record of being ever-present this season in the process.
