Windies crushed by final-over hat-trick

Charl Llangeveldt claimed a hat-trick in the final over to earn South Africa a dramatic one-run victory over the West Indies in Bridgetown, Barbados.

The home side went into the over needing only four runs to win and, after two balls, the target had been halved. But paceman Langeveldt bowled Ian Bradshaw and Daren Powell before trapping Corey Collymore leg before as West Indies were bowled out for 283 in reply to South Africa's 284 for six.

"It's the most tense final over I've ever experienced. I was struggling to breathe," said South Africa captain Graeme Smith. The victory gave his side a 3-0 winning lead in the five-match series.

The fourth match is in Trinidad, on Saturday.
