Wenger defiant but not 'cocky'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger today refused to be drawn into a war of words with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Manchester United manager Ferguson accused Wenger and Arsenal of being over-confident and "cocky".

But Wenger, who is about to embark on three days when the Premiership could be decided, said: "I respect Sir Alex but things are down to us and how we play. We will just keep going. We believe we will do it."

Wenger added: "Confidence is high and we are at the right level of concentration.

We have things in our own hands and we just want to keep it going. Monday's game at Bolton is a massive one and we just want to go out and do our job."

Asked again about Sir Alex's jibe Wenger said: "We ignore every comment and we respect every opinion."

A combination of a Manchester United draw at Ipswich and a Liverpool defeat at Tottenham will mean Arsenal can win the Premiership title if they beat Bolton.
