Wasps: We can keep Danny Cipriani

Staying put: Wasps are confident they can keep Danny Cipriani

Danny Cipriani's future at London Wasps remained uncertain as his side headed out to Paris looking to maintain their perfect record in the Amlin Challenge Cup this season.

The 22-year-old, who will start at fly-half against Racing Metro tonight as Wasps try to complete a clean sweep of victories in Pool Four, is out of contract in the summer and has the option to speak to other clubs.

Wasps are confident of keeping the England No10 and describe their negotiations with the player as "positive", but there is still no agreement in place. "We are just trying to find that common ground," said director of rugby Tony Hanks. "There's a bit going on behind the scenes and hopefully we'll have something in the next week or two."

Wasps have already qualified for the quarter-finals of the second-tier European competition, a tournament they have never lost a match in, but Hanks has named his strongest available team.

England lock Simon Shaw has stayed at home, though, after his wife gave birth on Monday to their fourth child.
