Wallabies too strong for Boks

Will Genia
12 April 2012

Will Genia scored a late try as Australia inflicted a 30-13 defeat on South Africa at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane - the Springboks' third successive Tri-Nations loss.

Both sides scored two tries but accurate kicking from Matt Giteau and James O'Connor saw the Wallabies home.

The deficit could have been far greater had the Australians not wasted a succession of chances with some poor finishing.

Scrum-half Genia, skipper Rocky Elsom and David Pocock shone for the Wallabies in a match which also saw three players sent to the sin-bin - Springboks duo Jaque Fourie and BJ Botha, and Australian fly-half Quade Cooper.

Drew Mitchell was Australia's first try-scorer, with Fourie and Gurthro Steenkamp touching down for the visitors.
