Wales suffer France defeat

12 April 2012

France remained on course for the Grand Slam in the RBS 6 Nations Championship as 19 points from the boot of David Skrela helped them overcome winless Wales 32-21 in Paris.

Les Bleus followed up away wins against Italy and Ireland with a deserved home success over the Welsh, who were 14-3 up after 15 minutes following tries by Alix Popham and Tom Shanklin.

But the hosts clicked into gear and tries at the end of the first half by Christophe Dominici and Lionel Nallet, combined with a near-flawless kicking display by fly-half Skrela throughout, saw them home.

Substitute Jamie Robinson scored a late consolation try for the visitors, but that did not stop France becoming sole leaders of the Six Nations with six points from a possible six.
