Veron relishes Inter interest

Veron: Set for a switch back to Serie A?
14 April 2012

Chelsea midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron has responded to speculation linking him with Inter Milan by admitting he would relish the challenge of joining the Serie A giants.

The Argentinian has struggled to make an impression at Stamford Bridge since joining in a £15million deal from Manchester United last summer, and he might be sacrificed in the summer to make space for new arrivals in the Chelsea squad.

With so many midfield players at Chelsea, opportunities are again likely to be limited next season for Veron, whereas at Inter he could expect to be a regular starter.

When asked about the prospect of joining Inter, Veron told the Corriere Dello Sport newspaper: "There is that possibility, but we have to wait until the end of the season to see who will coach Inter. My availability is there.

"It's a lifestyle choice, although I am happy in London and happy at Chelsea.

"It would be stimulating to play for Inter as it's many years since the club have won a big title."
