Tunnicliff hits record form

14 April 2012

Swedish Ryder Cup golfer Niclas Fasth, England's Miles Tunnicliff, and Australian Richard Green all equalled the course record at Gulf Harbour today in the second round of the New Zealand Open.

Tunnicliff set the clubhouse target at 14 under par with eight birdies and an eagle in his 63. But Fasth came home in 30 strokes with back-to-back eagles to overtake him at 16 under before Green chipped in on the 18th to finish on 11 under for 36 holes.

Oliver Wilson, who turned professional 18 months ago after helping Britain and Ireland retain the Walker Cup in 2003, carded a flawless 65 to lie third on 13 under.
