Suspended ban for Cork

13 April 2012

Dominic Cork received a suspended punishment from the England and Wales Cricket Board today for accusing Leicestershire's Bradley Hodge of cheating in a Twenty20 Cup match.

Cork was fined £500 and told to contribute a further £500 towards the costs of his disciplinary hearing at Lord's.

A ban of three first-class matches was suspended for 12 months after England one-day captain Michael Vaughan and umpire Dicky Bird vouched for his character.

The Derbyshire captain made his allegation when television replays appeared to show Hodge stepping over the boundary rope while taking a catch in a match which ultimately denied Derbyshire a place in the semi-finals.
