Surrey face tampering fine

Surrey's punishment for ball-tampering should be known today.

The county carried out their investigation and passed on a report to the England Cricket Board's discipline committee after twice being found guilty of doctoring the ball during the championship match against Notts three weeks ago.

Surrey vowed to find the culprit, or culprits, but seem to have failed. That means the ECB are likely to hit the whole team with a fine and possibly dock them points, as well.

Hampshire's stay at the top of Division One was brief as they lost to reigning champions Warwickshire. Hampshire were bowled out for 124 in their second innings.
