Stars rally round Sousa as winless run continues

Jon West13 April 2012

Queens Park Rangers defender Matthew Connolly insists this season can still be a success under Paolo Sousa.

The Portuguese manager is feeling the pressure after Saturday's 0-0 draw at home to Sheffield United extended a winless run to seven games.

Ex-Blackburn manager Paul Ince is rumoured to have been lined up as a replacement and Sousa knows the speculation will intensify should they falter again tomorrow at Doncaster Rovers.

But Connolly said: "We are all behind the gaffer and working hard to make the results better. Of course we are frustrated but we are making chances, defending well and working as hard as possible so it will turn round for us.

"It will come. There are 10 games to go and if we get seven or eight wins we will be there. Hopefully we can start that on Tuesday."

Rangers are eleventh in the Championship, seven points adrift of a play-off place.
