Sri Lanka bowled out for 184

Stuart Broad
12 April 2012

Stuart Broad took his first wicket of the Rose Bowl Test as England bowled Sri Lanka out for 184 on the third morning.

Broad, wicketless while Chris Tremlett (six for 48) led the way from the pavilion end for the first two days of this rain-affected third npower Test, saw off last man Chanaka Welegedara after Sri Lanka had resumed on 177 for nine.

The number 11 drove straight to short extra-cover, leaving Dilhara Fernando unbeaten on a Test best 39.

England therefore faced 75 minutes of batting before lunch, as long as the bad weather - which had again delayed start of play by a quarter of an hour - stayed away.
