Official symbol: The rings will hang in front of the station clock at St Pancras

Giant Olympic rings at St Pancras station will be the first visible sign for many that the Games are opening in London.

The official symbol, 70 feet across and 30 feet high, will be unveiled on Thursday and will hang in front of the station clock at the end of the platforms until the event is over.

Landmarks including Tower Bridge and the London Eye will also be adorned with rings and the symbol could be projected onto the Houses of Parliament and the National Gallery.

St Pancras is the terminus for the Olympic Park "Javelin" shuttle service to Stratford. The rings are in the Olympic colours of blue, yellow, black, green and red.
