Brazil talisman Neymar ended his Olympics goal drought in style as the hosts progressed to the semi-final of the football tournament on Saturday.

The Barcelona star scored a superb 25-yard freekick as A Seleção's quest for Olympic gold continued wih a 2-0 victory over Colombia to set up Wednesday's semi-final against Honduras in Rio.

Neymar had not scored for over 500 minutes of Olympics football, dating back four years to London 2012, but eased Brazilian nerves from the edge of the box in front of more than 40,000 spectators in Sao Paulo.

Rodrigo Caio saw a fine header saved early in the second period as Brazil looked to make the game safe but were made to wait until the closing moments to double their advantage.

Indeed, Luan's stunning, lobbed effort secured victory as the hosts kept a fourth straight clean sheet in another disciplined display at the back.

Chelsea target Thiago Miaga was brought on in the 67th minutes to help shore up the defence.
