The stage set for the Olympic opening ceremony takes shape inside the stadium.

Yesterday ceremony director Danny Boyle revealed the opening sequence would be an idyllic countryside scene featuring live farm animals. This image appears to show the Thames snaking its way across the arena - reminiscent of the opening credits of EastEnders - hinting at another element of Boyle’s plans.
