Scott leads way in Boston to secure first Tour title

13 April 2012

Adam Scott coasted to his first US Tour victory, winning the inaugural Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston by four strokes.

The 23-year-old Australian, whose swing is almost identical to world No1 Tiger Woods, fired a five-under-par 66 to become the youngest winner on tour since Sergio Garcia captured last year's Mercedes Championship at 21.

After four rounds in the 60s, Scott finished with 20-under-par total of 264 to claim the £570,000 top prize. "I think I have played exceptionally well this week and I made the most of it,' he said.

Rocco Mediate was second after a sixunder 65 left him on 268, with England's Justin Rose one shot behind following his final round of 67.
