Saints storm past Bath

Northampton are now the only unbeaten team in the Aviva Premiership after an emphatic 31-10 win over previously undefeated Bath at Franklin's Gardens.

Bath had proved a match for the Saints in the first half but they trailed 11-3 at half-time after the outstanding Phil Dowson barged over for the hosts and Shane Geraghty kicked six points, Olly Barkley getting Bath on the scoreboard with his only successful penalty from three attempts.

But they were blown away in the second half as two tries from England wing Chris Ashton and a further score from Joe Ansbro sealed the bonus point for the hosts, Ben Williams grabbing a late consolation for Bath.

Sale fashioned a superb late fightback to win 21-17 as tries from Mark Cueto and Kyle Tonetti left Harlequins still searching for their first victory of the season.

First-half scores from George Lowe and Jordan Turner-Hall put Quins 17-6 ahead at the break but the momentum was largely with Sale in the second half.

Cueto's 68th-minute try was well merited and, after the visitors lost Tomas Vallejos to the sinbin, Tonetti touched down a neat kick from Nick Macleod to seal victory in the closing stages.
