Rookie Ibehre to face Tigers

13 April 2012

Leyton Orient boss Tommy Taylor is banking on teenage striker Jabo Ibehre to provide his side with the firepower that will lead them to play-off glory against a resurgent Hull side.

The 18-year-old only made his first-team debut last week after several appearances as substitute.

But his brace helped secure Orient's semi-final place as they won 2-0 at Macclesfield.

"He's got so much confidence at the moment," said Taylor.

"Everything he's hitting is going in. We just hope that can last for another three games."

Brian Little has a full-strength squad to choose from after Jamaican international defender Ian Goodison, who had been suffering with an ankle injury, and John Eyre, who had a back problem, came through a training session.

Just to make the play-offs is a major achievement for a club which very nearly went out of existence earlier this season.

"Just a couple of months ago, there was a chance we would not be here, not just me but the players, the management staff, the club," said assistant boss Dave Moore.

"But we have not let that bother us and our performances on the pitch have got us this far, and we are determined to try to carry on."
