Relaxed Henman sets up Kuerten clash

14 April 2012

Tim Henman believes a more relaxed attitude could be the key to future success, starting today when he faces Brazilian Gustavo Kuerten in the third round of the Paris Masters.

The 29-year-old British No1, who has experienced a poor 2003 season, showed signs of this new, nothing-to-lose approach when fought back to defeat seventh seed Sebastien Grosjean 3-6, 6-4, 7-5.

Henman said: "It is pretty evident that my demeanour, my attitude on court was pretty relaxed. I was down a set but I still felt I could win. This attitude of nothing-tolose is something I have got to develop a little bit more."

Former French Open champion Kuerten booked his place in the third round with a 6-7, 7-6, 7-6 win over Mark Philippoussis.
