Powell hasn't given up hope

13 April 2012

England have to beat Holland at Grimsby on Sunday if they are to have a realistic chance of automatic qualification for the women's 2003 World Cup finals in China.

Hope Powell's team must finish top of their four-nation group but they lost their first game 3-1 to Germany, who followed up that victory by thrashing Portugal 9-0 last week.

Second place would leave England with a play-off chance and coach Powell said: "It may come down to the last game, against Germany next May."

Fulham full- back Rachel Unitt has withdrawn and should be replaced by Charlton's Julie Fletcher.
