Owen sets comeback target

Michael Owen is hoping to be back in action before the end of this season.

Newcastle's £16million England forward has been out since seriously injuring his knee at last year's World Cup. However, Owen appears to be increasingly optimistic of returning soon.

After talks with his surgeon, the 27-year-old said: "If it remains a steady progression I'm hoping to be back in April. But the real test will come when we get nearer the time."
