Andy Murray will look to close to the 915-point gap to world number one Novak Djokovic with victory at the Vienna Open this week.

The Scot won the tournament in 2014 and will claim a valuable 500 ATP ranking points if he repeats that feat 24 months on.

"I believe I can get there. I definitely believe I can get there. These last few months have proved that to me," Murray said of the top ranking after victory in the Shanhai Masters erlier this month.

"I may never get another chance to be No 1, so I’ll give it my best shot to do that while I have the opportunity."

Murray will become world number one if he wins in Vienna and Paris and Djokovic fails to reach the Paris final.
