New fears for Trophy

Cricket chiefs hope to resolve the issue of a potential clash of dates between planned tours and the rescheduled Champions Trophy.

The eight-team Champions Trophy tournament, due to start in Pakistan on 12 September, has been postponed for 13 months due to security fears.

The calendar is already packed, with each Test-playing nation required to tour all others at least once in four years.

India and Australia are set to meet in a seven-match one-day series in October 2009 but International Cricket Council communications manager Brian Murgatroyd said: "We will work with the relevant members to ensure such issues are overcome."

But Professional Cricketers' Association chairman Dougie Brown said: "I don't know how they can possibly fit it in."
