More injury woe for Gunners

Arsenal have been dealt a double blow with the news that William Gallas and Andrey Arshavin will both be missing for three weeks after suffering injuries in the Champions League quarter-final clash against Barcelona.

Arshavin was substituted inside 30 minutes at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night, and believes he will now spend the best part of a month on the sidelines - missing not only the return leg in Barcelona, but also the north London derby at Tottenham on April 14.

Gallas, meanwhile, looks set to be unavailable for a similar spell after he broke down on his return following eight games out with a calf injury.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger told the club's official website: "At the moment, we are like an army who have come back from a big battle.

"We have some bruises but we need to recover and then go to the next battle. Who will be available for the next one? I have to wait 24 hours more.

"William had a recurrence of his calf strain. That is at least three weeks. The next one is Arshavin - calf strain, three weeks."

They are not the only injuries to have hit the Gunners, with both Gael Clichy and Denilson doubtful to face Wolves on Saturday.

Wenger added: "Gael Clichy is struggling with a back problem. He might need a breather as well. I don't know yet, we will assess that. Denilson has a groin problem, we will assess that too."

However, Wenger insisted Arsenal had the strength and depth to overcome the injuries.

"We have (Mikael) Silvestre and (Sol) Campbell available," he said. "Then of course there is (Tomas) Rosicky and Eduardo. (Carlos) Vela is coming back too."
