Mark Cavendish in Team Sky link

13 April 2012

Mark Cavendish criticised a report today that he would be joining Team Sky next season but did not deny the story.

The 26-year-old is said to be poised to join the British-based squad from HTC‑Highroad in a deal worth £1.5million a year.

But Cavendish, who has won 15 stages of the Tour de France, tweeted today: "As always, I can't go 1 race without some sort of shit going on. At least it's not a crash this time! I will say I'm committed... @HTCHighroad until the end of this year, and I'm concetrating [sic] now on TourDeFrance."

Under UCI rules, teams and riders are not supposed to comment on transfer deals until August 1.
