Magath hoping to give Chelsea blues at the Bridge

Stuttgart coach Felix Magath believes Stamford Bridge will be far from a fortress when Chelsea attempt to defend a 1-0 lead in tomorrow's Champions League clash.

Stuttgart, third in the Bundesliga, flew to London today and Magath said: "We would have preferred to have won at home but we came close to scoring and the tie is still very much alive. Chelsea are a good team and have an impressive away record but at home, perhaps, they are not quite so good. We will see."

Meanwhile, Jesper Gronkjaer, who has made 35 appearances for Chelsea this season, is optimistic about being awarded a new contract despite the glut of midfielders at the club.

With new signing Arjen Robben there are 16 midfielders on the Blues' books but Gronkjaer, whose contract runs out next season, said: "There could be another 100 games for me at Chelsea.

"Playing at Chelsea has been good for me. Since I came to the club I've become more of a team player."
