Lynn's wait ends

14 April 2012

David Lynn is not in the Ryder Cup running, which means he can relax today and spend time savouring his maiden European Tour victory.

Lynn, from Stoke, made up a three-shot deficit on Australian Richard Green to win the KLM Dutch Open at Hilversum by three strokes for his first success in 168 attempts.

"I feel awesome," said Lynn. "I've been close a few times but this time things went my way."

Paul McGinley, who sank the winning putt to retain the Ryder Cup in 2002, claimed joint second place to move up a place to 14th in the race for automatic selection for next month's match.
