Jose to inspire Sporting

Jose Mourinho's success with Porto can inspire Sporting Lisbon to UEFA Cup glory tonight, says the Portuguese club's coach.

Mourinho guided Porto to the 2003 UEFA Cup and followed it up with the European Cup last season before joining Chelsea.

Sporting face CSKA Moscow in the final at their own ground, the Jose Alvalade Stadium, with coach Jose Peseiro determined to clinch a hat-trick of European triumphs for Portugal. "For a Portuguese side to reach a European final for the third season in a row shows we are stronger than we think," said Peseiro. "Our success has to do with the quality of Portuguese players and coaches."

CSKA could become the first Russian team to win a European final.
