Jol keen on Holland return

12 April 2012

Former Tottenham boss Martin Jol has not ruled out a return to management in his native Holland.

Jol wished to take a break after departing Spurs following a poor start to the season which has left them in the bottom three, but believes Ajax could be a possible destination for him. The 51-year-old was linked with the Ajax job earlier this month after Henk ten Cate left for Chelsea, but Adrie Koster has since been put in charge until the end of the season.

"I want to recharge my batteries first," he said in a telephone interview on TV station Het Gesprek. "But when something good crosses my path, I want to think about that."

He added: "I have lived here (in London) for three years already and I find England a fantastic country. But if I get a good feeling about Ajax, I absolutely will think about that. I would like to become champions somewhere."

He told AD Sportwereld he had not ruled anything out.

"Anything is possible," he said. "Another club in England, another foreign club or returning to Holland.

"I could step into a job where I can build the team up from the bottom or I could choose to go to a club with experienced players, because you can win prizes much more easily with those kind of players."
