New deal: Puncheon

Jason Puncheon and Damien Delaney have signed new contracts at Crystal Palace.

Alan Pardew today confirmed that Puncheon has agreed a “three or four” year deal, while Delaney has penned a one-year extension.

“Since I have come in, Jason has been the best player,” said Pardew. “He has orchestrated our play. I have given him more responsibility. He is very influential and very important.”

Palace play Liverpool tomorrow in Steven Gerrard’s Anfield farewell. Pardew believes Gerrard is “still at his best” but feels the midfielder is leaving at a good time.

“I wish him well,” said Pardew. “I have great respect for him and I look forward to the game. It is an important game for us.”
