ICC chiefs in London summit

14 April 2012

International Cricket Council top brass Malcolm Speed and Percy Sonn have arrived in London to try to hasten a resolution to the ball-tampering row which has rocked their sport.

Chief executive Speed is expected to meet officials from the Pakistani and English cricket boards, but it was announced on Friday morning that one of his first duties will be to chair a press conference.

He and president Sonn will brief the media at a hotel near Lord's on Friday afternoon.

Speed's arrival follows an assurance from Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shahriyar Khan that the tourists would soon discover a new date for the ICC hearing into charges of ball-tampering and bringing the game into disrepute against their captain Inzamam-ul-Haq.
