Holloway still hopeful

13 April 2012

Queens Park Rangers manager Ian Holloway has not given hope of escaping relegation.

The club's survival bid suffered a huge blow in midweek when they gave away two late goals to gift Crewe a point.

That result left Rangers bottom of Division One and the dismissals of Karl Ready and Peter Crouch hurt their hopes further.

But Holloway believes that his side can still get out of trouble even though time is running out.

He said: "There are five games left and 15 points are needed if we're to stay up. We should have beaten Crewe but we didn't and the players have got to do something about it."

Rangers do have some good news, though, before they go to fellow strugglers Portsmouth on Saturday. Karl Connolly, Michel Ngonge and Wayne Brown have all recovered from injuries and Danny Maddix is available again after suspension.
