Defending champion Lleyton Hewitt dropped a set for the first time this week before overpowering Max Mirnyi of Belarus 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 in the semi-finals of the Sydney International today.

World No3 Hewitt now meets qualifier Ivo Minar, who beat fellow Czech Radek Stepanek 6-1, 6-2 to reach his first ATP final on a scorching hot day at the Olympic tennis centre.

"I was feeling really bad and dizzy and very weak," Dementieva said.
