Henry vows to hit back with Arsenal

14 April 2012

Thierry Henry has explained why he is struggling to replicate his Premiership form on the international stage.

The Arsenal striker, who has scored only twice in his last 11 games for France, said: "We are trying to build a new team now as a lot of our best players have stopped playing for France. You need to know your team-mates really well and you can sense that we maybe don't at the moment.

"I am not frustrated that I didn't score because I know that I will be back to my best with Arsenal."

Following Saturday's 0-0 draw against the Republic of Ireland, France lie third in Group Four behind Switzerland and the Republic.

Meanwhile, Spain beat nineman Belgium 2-0 but the victory failed to dispel doubts about the team or take the pressure off coach Luis Aragones following his disparaging comments last week about Henry.
