Harry Redknapp is confident of Sulley Muntari deal

Tottenham are growing in confidence they will succeed in signing midfielder Sulley Muntari from Inter Milan in the summer.

Manager Harry Redknapp has made buying the Ghana international one of his top priorities as he continues to look to add a more physical edge to the squad.

Redknapp signed the 24-year-old from Udinese Calcio for £7million when he was Portsmouth boss in 2007. He then sold him to Inter for £12.7m a year later.

The Spurs boss is determined to work with him again, although he is aware players will have to be sold to raise funds as Standard Sport revealed in January.

A number of players are fearing for their future at the club, with Didier Zokora already thinking of leaving after being dropped in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Stephen Appiah admits he's still frustrated over his treatment in January, when Spurs were considering signing him as a free agent.

The 28-year-old went to White Hart Lane on trial after he was released by Fenerbahce last year due to a long-standing knee problem.

He lost his patience after Spurs stalled on the move and said: "I was originally meant to stay for five days.

"But, after that, the club wanted me to stay for another three weeks. After that, they asked I stay for a month. I then decided it was better to try elsewhere."
