Gough given new role at Essex

Darren Gough has replaced Paul Grayson as Essex vice-captain for the forthcoming season.

Grayson will become second XI captain, and his fellow Yorkshireman Gough has said he is honoured to have been named Ronnie Irani's deputy.

"Coming to Essex has been good for me, and I hope my experience will have an influence on the rest of the squad," said the England star.
