Australia striker Adam Taggart is joining Fulham after becoming top-scorer Down Under last season.

The 21-year-old hit 16 goals for Newcastle Jets to win the A-League's Golden Boot and has been part of his country's World Cup sqaud.

Fulham have signed Taggart on a three-year deal and hope that his goals can get them back into the Premier League at the first attempt.

"I've had two really enjoyable years at the Jets and for that reason I will always hold the club and city of Newcastle close to my heart," said Taggart on Tuesday. "I'm looking forward to starting a new chapter in my career with Fulham and working hard to take my game to another level."

Taggart has played twice at this World Cup, coming off the bench in the 3-2 defeat against Holland and starting Monday's 3-0 loss to Spain.
