Christian Benteke is a dream striker for Crystal Palace’s wide men, Wilfried Zaha has revealed.
The £27million summer signing from Liverpool has already gone some way to paying back his club record fee, his three goals in the Premier League effectively providing five points for Alan Pardew’s side.
Palace have proven themselves to be among the league’s most formidable threats in the air – no side has played more crosses into the box or scored more goals in that fashion – and it has made life much easier for Zaha.
“We have a natural goal-scorer in Christian,” the Palace winger told the Croydon Advertiser. “Goals make a massive difference, so since he has started scoring everyone else has had to up their game really.
“It's a dream to work with someone like Christian. Any cross you put in, he is a known goal-scorers, so he will set someone up or get the goal himself.
“It gives me more confidence to cross the ball a lot more and play it into him. He is so good in the air so it makes it a lot easier for me, I can just play one ball.”
