Aaron Cresswell wants West Ham to build on their new-found stability under David Moyes after the Scot said the Hammers were no longer a "flaky" side.
West Ham beat Fulham 1-0 at the London Stadium on Saturday to continue their impressive start to the season.
The Hammers go into the international break just five points off the Champions League places and it is clear Moyes is building something.
Saturday night's win was far from free-flowing and they were let-off when Ademola Lookman fluffed a Panenka penalty attempt in stoppage time.
But having signed off before the two-week break with three points, Cresswell believes Moyes is starting to make his mark on the West Ham team having kept them up last season.
Cresswell said: "Both times the gaffer came in we were deep in a relegation battle. It is different for managers to come in at those times and he has kept us up twice.
"We've started this season and been excellent at the start of the season, it is working well and we've got the two-week gap now to build on it, work on what we're going to do against Sheffield United."
Asked about his side’s shift in mentality since lockdown, Moyes said: "To avoid relegation from the position we were in was a big achievement and getting the results from a team who hadn't picked up that many points or wins.
"I think we are improving the mentality and the character of the players we've got at the moment.
"I think it says a lot about the players, it is a change. We are not going to try and be flaky to lose the game, we are going to stick at it and try to not lose.
"I hope we can keep winning like this. We got a point at Spurs, we could have lost three points on Saturday but the players have been really good.
"To go into the November break where we are after the games we have played has been a great credit to the players."
Moyes will be hopeful the injury is nothing serious given the Italian defender’s fine start to the season.
