Chelsea will be cheering on Tottenham to reach the Capital One Cup Final tonight because they want to avenge their shock 5‑3 loss at White Hart Lane on New Year’s Day.

Spurs are odds-on favourites to meet the Blues at Wembley on March 1 as they go into the second leg of their semi-final at League One Sheffield United with a 1-0 aggregate lead.

Asked if he wanted to face Spurs, Eden Hazard told Standard Sport: “Yes, to get revenge — it would be good. Although it doesn’t matter if it’s Tottenham or Sheffield United, we have to win the final.

“Was it painful to lose 5-3 to Spurs? Yes. When you play for Chelsea, every defeat is difficult. You have to give more to clean the situation.

“I have played at Wembley with Belgium and with Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City, which we lost 2-1.

“It’s always good to play in this stadium. The stadium is very good, very big and if you like playing football, you want to play at this ground.”
