Watford manager Sean Dyche blasts poor finishing after defeat to Bristol Rovers

11 April 2012

Watford manager Sean Dyche says his team must start converting their chances if they are to have a successful Championship season.

The Hornets crashed out of the Carling Cup first round on penalties at Bristol Rovers last night after the teams drew 1-1.

After Rovers scored in the fifth minute to cancel out Marvin Sordell's second-minute opener, Watford missed some good opportunities.

And Dyche says his team need to be less wasteful. "We did everything but win the game," he said. "You have to be clinical and that's missing from our game."

Barnet went out in the second- round stage as they lost 3-2 to Burnley after extra-time. Steve Kabba and Ricky Holmes levelled the tie after the Championship hosts had gone into a 2-0 lead.

Barnet manager Lawrie Sanchez said: "I'm very proud of them. I don't think you could tell there were two divisions between them."
