Watford have completed the signing of Udinese winger Ignacio Pussetto for a fee of £6.8m.

The 24-year-old is the club’s first arrival of the January transfer window and joins on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

Pussetto caught the eye in Italy on occasion and played 50 times in 18 months with the Serie A side, scoring five goals.

Prior to his move to Serie A, the Santa Fe-born winger began his career with Atlético de Rafaela before switching to fellow Argentine Primera División outfit Huracán.

Pussetto is an attractive option for Watford due to his versatility as he is able to operate out wide, through the middle or even at full-back if required.

Watford could well strengthen their squad again during the current transfer window as Nigel Pearson looks to bring in new recruits, with both a centre-back and full-back possible additions.
