Watford block Cardiff's attempt to get Malky Mackay

Watford today refused Cardiff permission to talk to Malky Mackay about becoming their manager.

Club owner Laurence Bassini said: "We don't want Malky to leave and we will do everything in our power to keep him."

However, Mackay may not be happy about staying, having had to sell striker Danny Graham and winger Will Buckley this month.
