Twitter abuse: Chelsea LaSalle has been branded a 'slut' by Twitter trolls
Standard Sport16 March 2015

Photographer Chelsea LaSalle has said she won't sell her twitter handle @Chelsea despite receiving a deluge of misdirected tweets.

LaSalle, based in San Francisco, told BuzzFeed she receives up to 100 tweets a minute while Jose Mourinho's men are playing, but won't consider giving up the username.

The blogger, who tweeted 'I hate the football season' during the Blues Champions League elimination at the hands of PSG last week, has in the past received abuse from football supporters when redirecting them to the official Chelsea page @ChelseaFC.

LaSalle has had the handle for over seven years after a friend who worked at Twitter helped her secure it.

She said: “I didn’t even think about it at the time.

“I knew some people would mention me thinking they tagged their friends if they didn’t really know how to use Twitter, but I didn’t expect a crazy influx of football fans.”
