Tottenham are close to agreeing personal terms with Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.

Spurs have identified Raya as their primary target to replace Hugo Lloris, who is set to leave this summer after 11 years and more than 400 appearances for the club.

But Spurs and Brentford remain apart in their valuation of the 27-year-old Spaniard.

Brentford want £40million, but Spurs are reluctant to meet that asking price and hope to negotiate a lower fee.

Manchester United and Chelsea have also registered interest in Raya, but Spurs are hopeful of securing a deal for a player who has one year left on his contract.

Brentford have signed Mark Flekken in £11m deal from Freiburg, paving the way for the exit of Raya.

Raya kept 12 clean sheets in 30 Premier League appearances for Brentford this season. His good distribution is appealing to Spurs as they prepare for life under new head coach Ange Postecoglou.
