Tottenham set to be without Danny Rose for the rest of February due to knee injury

Tottenham look set to be without Danny Rose for at least the rest of the month due to a knee injury.

Rose underwent a scan on the damage, sustained in the 0-0 draw at Sunderland on January 31, last week and also visited a specialist earlier this week.

Though Tottenham have yet to deliver a verdict on his condition, the fear is that Rose will be absent for about four weeks – as Standard Sport reported last week.

Rose’s absence, coupled with that of Jan Vertonghen, has left Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino reluctant to use the 3-4-2-1 formation that brought Tottenham six straight victories in December and January.

Vertonghen is thought to be making good progress as he recovers from the ankle injury sustained against West Brom last month.

Meanwhile, Tottenham may listen to offers for defender Kevin Wimmer at the end of the campaign. The Austria international has struggled to earn the trust of Pochettino this season and has suitors in Germany.

Cologne, the club who sold Wimmer to Spurs in 2015, remain interested in bringing back their former player while there has also been interest from Borussia Dortmund.
