Tottenham midfielder Tom Carroll completes Swansea move

Tottenham midfielder Tom Carroll has today completed a permanent move to Swansea City.

Carroll is a product of Tottenham's youth system but, despite making 19 Premier League appearances last season, has fallen down the pecking order this term.

The 24-year-old signed a new deal at White Hart Lane as recently as September 2016 but has struggled for game time due to fierce competition for places, plus the emergence of Harry Winks.

Carroll impressed during a loan spell at Swansea during the 2014/15 season and has become the Welsh club's third signing of the January transfer window following Luciano Narsingh's arrival from PSV and left-back Martin Olsson. He has signed a three-and-a-half year deal.

Carroll will be expected to immediately challenge for a place in Paul Clement's starting line up as the Swans attempt to haul themselves out of the relegation zone.

Spurs are yet to conduct any major business this month and Mauricio Pochettino is adamant Jan Vertonghen's injury will not alter his transfer plans.
