Mauricio Pochettino and Harry Kane have been nominated for the Premier League manager and player of the month as rewards for Tottenham’s impressive November.
Spurs went unbeaten throughout a tricky month of fixtures, including three London derbies. Matches against Arsenal and Chelsea ended in highly creditable draws, whilst struggling Aston Villa were swatted aside in the first fixture of November.
Perhaps most impressive of all was the 4-1 shellacking they handed out to West Ham at White Hart Lane, in which Kane in particular was influential as he scored for a fifth club game in a row.
Kane is joined on the shortlist for player of the month by Watford striker Troy Deeney, who scored three goals in November, Leicester City’s record-breaking Jamie Vardy, Dejan Lovren of Liverpool and Everton duo Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku.

Pochettino is one of four nominated for manager of the month, alongside Jurgen Klopp, Roberto Martinez and Claudio Ranieiri.
Tottenham have enjoyed a fourteen match unbeaten league run, their best in the Premier League era, but Saturday’s 1-1 draw away to West Bromwich Albion saw them lose ground on the top four, with the two Manchester clubs currently three points ahead of them.
Meanwhile Nacer Chadli has praised Pochettino for the bond within his youthful squad, who can qualify top of their Europa League group with a point at home to Monaco tonight.
“If you have a good relationship with your team-mates, it is always easier to play than when you don’t,” he said. “We have a good relationship with each other and that makes a difference.”
