Thibaut Courtois: Chelsea must show we’re ready to fight for the title against Tottenham and Manchester City

Thibaut Courtois believes Chelsea's next two games will prove whether they are genuine title contenders or not.

Chelsea beat Middlesbrough 1-0 yesterday to secure a sixth straight League win and moved to first place in the table.

However, they now face their stiffest test of their form so far, with a match at home to unbeaten Tottenham on Saturday followed by a trip to Manchester City a week later.

Courtois admits Chelsea, who finished a lowly 10th last term, have nothing to be excited about just yet.

He said: "It is very nice to be top again. We have fought hard. It was a difficult season last year for the fans and the club, the players had a lot of criticism as well.

"But we can't relax now. We face two big opponents now and hopefully we can show that we are ready to fight for the title."
