Son Heung-min has been included in Tottenham's starting line up for this afternoon's Premier League fixture against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

The South Korea international arrived from Bayer Leverkusen in January and produced an impressive performance during the international break with a hat trick in his nation's emphatic 8-0 victory over Laos.

Although the forward has had little time to train with his new teamamtes he has been handed his debut alongside the side's attacking focal point Harry Kane.

Midfielder Dele Alli has also been handed his first start for Spurs within a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Mauricio Pochettino's side are yet to win a league game this season and will be keen to finally put three points on the board at the fifth time of asking.

The Black Cats, meanwhile, are second from bottom and have conceded 10 goals in just four games.

What they're saying

Dick Advocaat: "With the people we brought in, we’ve got more competition in the squad and that was what we needed. But we still have to find out the right balance of the squad.

“Of all the players we bought, only Lens was a regular. None of the rest were playing. Physical-wise, they are not yet at the level that you have to be at in this league.

“That is our biggest concern. We have to work on that. But you can only get that if you play, not when you train. We have to decide whether to wait or put them straight in.”

Mauricio Pochettino: “I’m very happy for Harry Kane. It was important for him to score again after the start of the season. He is a nice guy who works hard for the team.

“It’s always important for a striker to score and it was a great goal against San Marino. He then scored quickly against Switzerland which was also very good. We need him.”
